I couldn't get used to the look of the ASUS BLU-RAY writer so I changed the bezel to the standard style (that comes with it). The whole unit feels more solid with the standard bezel.

I got some more black 3 pin fan connectors now so I'm going to braid the 140mm fan in the roof when I get a minute
I can't remember what the format of the front fan is, ie normal 3 pin and extra molex power for the LEDs or what. I will see if I can do that at the same time.
I'm very tempted to put another 120GB Corsair Force 3 in here. It would obviously mean another reinstall :S
I'll see how things go over the next month or so, as I need to finish of the QX6700 system too. It needs a GFX upgrade as it still has a 4870 1GB lol.
I'm hopefully going to have time to put the second Corsair Force 3 120GB in here this week.
Can't wait to see how they perform in RAID0.
I'll post some pictures etc when done :)
So much for getting this added this week :S
Fingers crossed I'll get time next week :)
I finally got round to installing the 2nd Corsair Force 3 :)
It feels fantastic
Going really well so far.
I'm going to put some of this in here in the next couple of weeks..
Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB PC3-12800C9
Sounds good.
I've gone with some of this in the end
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) 1600MHz CL9 [CML16GX3M4A1600C9B]
I'll leave the Dominator for my TJ07.
Here's a couple of pictures of the 16GB Corsair Vengeance LP 1600MHz CL9 installed.
That takes the spec to ..
Spec
Intel i7 2600K @ 4GHz
ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE
16GB of Corsair Vengeance Low-Profile 1600MHz CL9
2x Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD in RAID0 64K Stripe
ASUS GeForce GTX 560 Ti TOP (Default Clock)
ASUS Xonar DX PCI-E
ASUS Blu-Ray Writer
Corsair HX650
Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced USB3.0
I got round to playing musical chairs with my PSU's so the two PCs in Coolermaster CM690 II in my office have Corsair AX750 PSUs which left a Corsair HX750 PSU spare to be moved into this PC, so here's a run down of the specs in here now..
Spec
Intel i7 2600K @ 4GHz
ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE Z68 Chipset
16GB of Corsair Vengeance Low-Profile 1600MHz CL9
2x Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD in RAID0 64K Stripe
2x Wester Digital 1TB in RAID0 128k Stripe
ASUS GeForce GTX 560 Ti TOP (Default Clock)
ASUS Xonar DX PCI-E
ASUS Blu-Ray Writer
Corsair HX750 PSU
Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced USB3.0
Since WCG are now doing GPU Tasks I'm going to put the GTX 580 in here as it's wasted in the PC it's in atm.
what gtx770 you getting Lloyd?
I'm thinking either...
ASUS GeForceĀ® GTX 770 DirectCU II [GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5]
or
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC w/ ACX Cooler [02G-P4-2774-KR]
The usual suspects really.
EDIT: I may change the ASUS model to a TOP version if one comes out before I buy.
What's up with the ASUS Haswell range, awful colours! I was expecting a blue DELUXE to go with my Blue RAM :S
Sabertooth and new RAM it is!
Saying that, the ASUS Z87 DELUXE wouldn't look too bad when paired with the EVGA GTX 770 and some black RAM.
So I'm currently thinking
Intel i7-4770K
ASUS Z87 DELUXE
EVGA GTX 770 SC ACX
Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB (2x8GB) Black
Should be good
imo this is better http://www.asus.com/News/g6YKlu2AUhio8Hpq :)
Yeah, since posting I have changed my mind about 10 times lol
They both have TPM headers (unlike the ASUS Z68 range), the dust protect feature on the Sabertooth would be great for this PC, but then it has small fans which wouldn't.
Then the Deluxe has Wi-Fi which means I could easily switch between my networks, and has no small fans.
It's tough, but I'm leaning towards the Sabertooth atm.
got my gtx770 today Zotac amp edition....when overclocked it bests a gtx780 http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphi...ition/?page=11
Apparently theres not much headroom on the standard cards for overclocking, that's why i got the overclocked version as you can clock these much higher than standard cards......went to apply Afterburner to overclock mine and it was all at zero?.....so i used the Zotac overclocking utility....got mine at 1180mhz gpu....1860mhz memory ....Boost 1232mhz.....standard is 1150mhz gpu....memory 1800mhz......boost 1202mhz....i could go higher but that will do me.....never touched the voltage.....temps playing bf3 on ultra 65c oc ....idle 29c :)
Well, my EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SuperClocked with ACX Cooler should be here tomorrow..
Amazing, all installed.
I did have problems with that bloody 320.18 driver again! This time it wouldn't recognize there was an NVIDIA card installed!
I'll run some benchmarks in a bit, I need something to eat. It's taken me since 5pm to fit it as I had to keep dusting, and I can still see dust in the pictures lol
You using afterburner?.......heres what mine looks like lol
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...ps1dc955ab.jpg
Nice. No, I've installed EVGA's Precision 4.2 atm
These are the default clocks on the EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Superclock ACX..
I'm wondering what kind of performance increase I will get with the ASUS Z87 Sabertooth's PCI-E 3.0 as this ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE only has PCI-E 2.0, we will see..
Dont think theres much difference between 2.0 and 3.0 gaming wise, as i looked at this as a way to convince me to upgrade a while back. :)
LOL
I've got my Sabertooth and 4770k getting here tomorrow
See what that's like, can't wait lol
What you done with your old mobo/cpu?
I haven't decided yet, but I'll probably sell it if your interested.
what you got again sandy or ivy?
Yeah it's Sandybridge mate.
how much you wanting for the cpu and mobo?
Just bought 12gb of corsair vengeance so would only need another stick tbh.
