Sapphire 4870X2 Artifacts

Last month my 4870X2 started to artifact during 3d applications.

The strange thing is if i Alt-Tab out of the 3D application before the PC crashes it will fix the artifacts for that period or untill i restart the 3D applications.

I also noticed in CCC that the second core never has any activity and remains at a low temp while the other core works its tits off.

However i dont see a drop in benchmark performance so is the core really stuck? hmmm puzzling

The card runs hot. always has done but no more than usual.

i was going to chuck it in the bin this morning as i have a 6970 unless anyone knows of a possible solution or even if someone wants to have it for spares and repairs if i can't fix it.

I am actually looking for a standard cooler for a 4870x2.....so if your gonna bin it i will have it m8. :)

Last resort....but means you have to take the cooler off and then send it to me. :)

if i dont fix it and lets face it i probably wont.... your welcome to the cooler or the whole thing if you want to pay postage lol

That would be great.....nobody seems to have a spare cooler even the people on the watercooled pc forums?..... just tell me how much and i will pay for p&p m8. :)

Yeah i am still interested m8, i have the card with waterblock fitted on ebay at the moment, it still has 7 days to go and if it doesnt sell i would just put the cooler on it and probs keep it as a back up card. will let you know if it doesn't sell. :)

Well i didn't sell the card even tho i had 14 watchers lol, so i would defo like the cooler m8, just let me know how much you want for postage and i will sort you out. :)

Just the cooler if thats ok.....or if your not up to taking it off the whole card will do and i will take it off m8. :)

What card are you using now?

ive had the cooler off plenty of times so thats not an issue. i would say p&p should be no more than £10 for just the cooler.

£10......jesus how heavy is it lol...... it's only £3.99 to send my 4870x2 and it is heavy as fook with the waterblock fitted?.....ive got this guy who's emailing me on ebay saying he will give me £92.00 but wants me to relist it again but i'm trying to convince him that i will be lucky to clear £80 after p&p and ebay and paypal fees. :(
