Hi guys,
I'm not sure if u have already heard of this, but i've found the kmplayer to be absolutly superb, plays everything without any other codecs (mkv inc)

I've been using this 3.2 version for about 24 hours, so far it's very good, I still don't like the "Album Art" feature but the new UI is very nice.
If you haven't tried The KMPlayer before, you should give it a go ... you won't be disappointed! Much better than VLC and Media Player Classic.
As I have just posted in the NVIDIA Drivers Thread, I was experiencing some artifacts while watching AVI's and MKV's, totally jumping to conclusions I blamed NVIDIA after hearing some reports about my GFX card.
I then got the latest 301.42 drivers and was still getting the issues, so I thought I would change tack, and reinstall an older version of The KMPlayer and got no problems, phew it wasn't the GFX!
That still left me annoyed as the new version of The KMPlayer is much nicer to use, so I got it installed again completely clean (uninstalling completely and reinstalling) after a bit of hunting I found a thread that mentioned something similar and they said change the filter used with a damaged AVI, but mine weren't damaged. I went to...
The KMPlayer -> Preferences -> Filter Control -> Source Filter
and changed the AVI Source Filter/Splitter - Normal - AVI to Gabest AVI Splitter (see Screenshot)
After changing that The KMPlayer is back to it's best!
But WHY OH WHY have they changed the default filter?!? I will be moaning on their forum too!
The above fix didn't fix it for everything :(
I have ended up using Windows 7 Codec Pack with The KMPlayer as I need all the features The KMPlayer has - nothing even comes close!
They have just released The KMPlayer 3.3.0.33 which so far seems to have solved the issue (touch wood) with the KMPlayer defaults.
I've only been running the new version for about an hour so I will post back in a couple of days.

How is it better than VLC?

There's lots of things about it I find better than VLC, give it a go. It's 30MB very light weight.
It's been the only media player I've used in what about 8 to 10 years now, obviously I've tried VLC in that time lots of times but the sound and video quality just isn't as good.
Oh and I knew there was something else..
9. You can set it up so it will play all files in a folder, a sort of auto playlist.
Well i installed it and my rat 7 MMO profile editor stopped working?....i tried everything to get it working....first thing was uninstalling KM player which made no difference?....long story short, anyone want to buy a Rat 7 MMO?....I had to go to pc world yesterday and buy a Logitech G700s for £60.00.....put a ticket into Madcats but no reply?...Think i will stick with VLC. :mad:
Hmm, I'll ask over at their forum but the only thing I can think of is if the RAT 7 Profiler needs a specific file extension left as default?
I haven't used a RAT mouse so I'm not sure what it requires, but there's no issues with Logitech Profiler.
when i googled this it seems that some programmes can cause this confliction with the profile software?.....you would think once removed it would be ok again?

I'm just trying to think...what mice I've used...only Razor and Logitech and they have no issues.
Like I say have a look at the .swf file association. And restore it.
I have deleted both the smart technology & KM player software.....Logitech software is ok. :)
