I'm gonna order a Asus Xonar D2X PCI-E later for it ready for the GTX 580.
Then I'm goning to upgrade the mobo, CPU and RAM to i7 and water cool it, using the same TFC 480 rad, DDC 3.2, not sure about res yet.
Then these parts will be used in Rig 3 which i will rebuild in a Coolermaster CM-690 II Advanced.
You going with Sandy Bridge i7? They are out on 9th January.
If they out that soon then yeah :D
EDIT: Just ordered the Asus Xonar D2X, I'm looking forward to seeing how well that performs in BC2, should be good, if the Asus Xonar DX is anything to go on :up:

I read the i7 next gen 2 (they dropped the words sandy bridge) the in built gpu is on par with a Radeon HD 5450, so what happens when you plug in another gpu?
They didn't drop the "words" sandy bridge... Why would they drop the codename? That's like dropping Westmere, Kentsfield e.c.t.
Also, the IGP on the chip won't work when another GPU is "plugged" in... just like any other IGP.

My Asus Xonar D2X just got here so will be getting that installed later, just waiting on the GTX 580 now :(
I got the Xonar D2X installed last night, very good sound :up:
Just need to wait for the GTX 580 before I reinstall Windows 7.

I got the GTX 580, here are some pictures as it is atm.
I need to sort out the cabling at the top, will do that later or tomorrow.
I just added some Corsair Vengence 1600 C8-8-8-24, 8GB which is a nice little upgrade ready for Sandy :D
So, the question is which to buy...

Asus Sabertooth P67
Obviously I should get the Maximus (to match my other PCs) but I do like that Sabertooth, the x58 version was lovely.

I'm currently waiting for the Intel bug to blow over before I go Sandybridge.
In the meantime I needed a new keyboard so I went with a Logitech G510 which I hope will be here later today.
I'm gonna grab a G700 as soon as I can. I wasn't overly impressed with the Razor Mamba it realy didn't have the feel of a £100 mouse and the rubber grip started coming away in a corner. Maybe Razor should concerntrate on a bit of quality rather than building as many different mice and keyboards they can.
That's where I am atm :S

Dam, everything is set up and running sweet BUT my Logitech 2.1 THX speakers seem to have died so I'm going to have to replace them -
Logitech Z623 2.1 Channel Multimedia Speakers - 200W RMS
are the latest version of them, so that's what I'll get :up:
LOL I just downloaded the Intel LAN driver - 120MB zipped :S
I still need to get CPU and GFX blocks, and I want to replace the case fans and braid them.

But I want to get it powder coated/painted matt black on the outside and gloss black inside. We'll see :)
Btw that braid is TechFlex - my favourite.

Here's a few more pics, I grabbed some of those NZXT pre-braided cable extensions for the 8pin and 24pin. I also got a molex to 3x sata pwr cable as the cable runs from corsair are the wrong way round for a floor mounted PSU, you would think that they would do 1x line of sata for a roof mounted PSU and a line for floor mounted - but no !!
There's still a molex to sata cable I'm going to braid myself but that'll have to wait till I can get some different heatshrink.
I think you pulled the trigger on that Maximus too soon, Z68 chipset is out in 2 weeks
That's ok, rig 2 needs an upgrade :up:
Bit more of a tidy up, I would still like to do something about the PCI-E 8 pin and 6 pin.
