Sorry but im going i7 soon with possibly another 4870x2 on a second loop with a third rad..... so better get the hankeys out m8.
Just downloaded crysis warhead....dx10 on gamer is so smooth....its like ur there. :)
Hopefully when I have reformatted tonite I should be able to run 3d mark 06 again (not been able to since i had the Q6600)I will run a benchmark on the same clocks you had 3.6 cpu and gpu's 800/1000 then we can see whats better a 4870x2 or 2 4870's in crossfire. Im hoping to get over 20k as i was scoring 19800 with an E8400
nice one - i wouldn't be surprised if the two single cards took it TBH
It would also be interesting to see how they perform with the res and / or AA AF etc ramped up :)
you put the res up and the 4870x2 will trounce the 2 512mb cards. 2gb v 1gb.
I mean who uses 1280x1024 anyway?.........1680x1050 is the most common res....22" screens.
I will run some with the res as high a i can go aswell prob not that high as i only have a 22" monitor
Post up your settings / res when your done and ill run teh same ;)
got this.......... first go......

On my ccc overdrive box it says at the bottom current values....one core says gpu clock 507mhz and memory clock 500mhz....when i click on the other core it says 790mhz /915mhz...ive clocked it to 802mhz /1000mhz.
I also checked these readings with gpu-z and its the same....i presume it uses 1 core only and then the other core when needed?
Is this right?
The lower values are the 2D clocks - they dont ramp up to the 3d / Overclocked values until you run a 3D application - A bit like speedstep on your CPU
yes i thought that was the case....wot about 1 core higher than the other?
Dont know about that one :|
Well look at yours with gpu-z m8. or ccc. :)
Ccc - 507/500 & 507/500
gpuz - 750/900 & 750/900
Mine are both the same now....wonder why it was reading different before?
Anyhoo...thanks Tb. :)
no probs
Had to revive this thread lol.....just looking at old threads to see what we were up too back in the day.......... q6600s and 4870s were the kings at the time ha ha...........put a big smile on my face. :)
