I got round to installing this version (on my laptop again) everything feels great, very responsive and smooth.
I've been running it for a couple of days now, generally it's very nice, but I'm still not keen on metro when it comes to desktop and laptops.
They really needed to rethink this "one OS for all devices" they should have done separate desktop/laptop and tablet versions and used the "live tiles" to replace the gadgets down the side of the desktop.
    Unfortunately it's too late now
Personally I'll be sticking with Windows 7 on my desktops, but I'll continue running Windows 8 on my laptop for testing purposes.
Is anyone else running the RTM yet?

    Default CHKDSK

CHKDSK is much improved, it will scan and then ask you what you want to do eg restart and fix. It also has a timer now.

By the way, if you need to change the Windows 8 key you can run this command in an elevated command prompt..

    Code:
    slmgr.vbs -ipk "NEW-WINDOWS-KEY"
    including quotes.

Yeah me too, I've just reinstalled windows 7 on my laptop. So I'm not running it at all now.
I must say it feels good to have it back on here, I can actually get some work done on my laptop.

I quite like Office 2013 and Server 2012, but Windows 8 it's just NO! Massively inefficient on a Desktop/Laptop (can't say for tablets), I have no plans to put it on one of my main PCs that I work from.

If your going to replace something as important as the start menu at least think about it for a while! Look at what Start8 has done, their metro version of their start menu looks quite good.

And don't get me started on the charms, and the hover for start menu, do you know how many times I opend IE instead!!!

I will probably get a Surface and a Windows 8 phone, but that's it.

Default It's wrong, but I like it

Since I now have a Windows 8 Phone (Samsung ATIV S 16GB), which I have been really impressed with, both the phone and the OS, I thought I would give Windows 8 another go on my laptop and now I have installed it on my main pc too. So my 3 main devices are Windows 8!
I am starting to really like it, my hand was forced as I want to start building some Windows 8 Phone apps, and you need Windows 8 and Hyper-V for that.
The people and calendar apps are good, syncing round all my devices, and Hyper-V is just great! Especially if you want to try a different OS like Ubuntu etc.
I still miss my Start Menu, but for me atm the pros are outweighing the cons.
