    Default MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Motherboard

Just got one of these haswell mobos with my latest graphics card ( HD 7990 ).....so i take it i need the 4770K to go with it then?....where is the cheapest place to get one from? and is there only one chip or is there a revised one?.....also i have 3x4gb of corsair vengeance so will be needing another stick to balance things out or will 3 sticks be ok?

Yeah, 4770K is what you'll want.
Since Sandybridge you need ddr3 rated at 1.5v, I think the triple channel is the older type.
Even if it was ok, you'd have to find a stick that matches your current parts which may be tricky.
Not sure where the cheapest place is atm, maybe Aria?

Mines 1.5v and its only a few month old.....tbh theres no such thing as triple channel, dual ram etc....ram is ram....if you have a triple channel mobo then you put 3 sticks in or 6 sticks of DDR3 and dual or quad is 2 4 or 8 depending on the mobo havibng 4 or 8 slots......and i got 2 more x4gb sticks for £45 second-hand (or it was £40 new for 1 stick) the same as mine and ordered a 4770K from Aria.

    Nice mate

I just replied to you in the 3dmark thread about the overclocking, but we can go in depth here.

As I said there are some guides I posted for Haswell and Z87 in the Intel Overclocking section.
Here's something about the motherboard, hope that helps a bit.

    EDIT: How are the fans?

Sorted the overclock m8.....those noctua fans are amazing.....they are only the 1400rpm ones but the are practically silent.....those stock corsair fans that you get with the H100i are a joke......they sound like jet engines compared to the Noctuas.

Big problem now tho as the 7990 is only giving me around 46fps dropping down to 35fps in bf4 where as my gtx770 was giving me around 50/70 on same game settings?

It seems like only one gpu is working?

I watched a your tube video with a guy playing the beta with a 7990 and he never dropped below 100fps and was getting 160fps which is about right.

I have tried 2 different drivers but same results?

Moved here as it wasn't 3dmark related.

Did you completely remove all trace of NVIDIA drivers before installing the ATI drivers?

Hmm, I'd say make sure and use DDU, but I'm not sure if that can clean up NVIDIA once you have AMD on there.
So maybe check with Driver Fusion.
Other than that I can't find much about low fps in BF4 with your card, I'll keep looking..

Cool, yeah that's what I would have done SLI GTX 770's
With regards to memory speed, I'm not sure I've always used exact matches.
I just did a quick Google and that seems to suggest it will be fine to match the memory speed up in over/underclock. Or the driver will do it automatically to the lower speed.
If it was my machine, I'd want exact matches
