    Default My little project!

Ok so this evening I stripped down my rig and planned a few mods.

-Mounting a tripple rad in the roof / front
-Mounting a dual rad in the floor
    -Powedercoated Case
-Mesh side panels replaced with perspex

Came across one big issue with this plan though lol, anyone got any ideas on how i can get a tripple rad mounted in the front, and still be able to fit a dvd drive and a couple of hard drives in there?

A pic of the problem, and my new fans on the tripple rad for giggles:

err i'm not sure, IIRC you can fit a 120.3 rad in the roof, with some modding.

Thinking of using a slimline laptop dvd drive in the space above the rad and fitting the hdd's in the void between the top of the inside and the very top of the case on custom brackets, all on custom made brackets

Have now completely stripped down the case, which was easier than i expected, no rivets holding things on just screws. Was a bit of a pain getting the front panel off but managed it in the end and now i know how it goes, should be easier putting it back together.

Next job is to get hold of a slimline drive, and sort out some brackets to hold everything in place, am in the workshops at work next week so will be able to get hold of some sheet metal, a guillotine and a bender so should all be ok

After that I'll be hunting down some orange LED's to change over the hdd and power lights on the front panel from their standard blue.

I'll be sending the insides of the case away for powder coating, but im unsure if I should send the external pannels away too, as they're annodised alluminium it'll be a pain in the arse to sand down to bare metal, so I may just leave them seeing as they're black already.

Good good, only orange LED's ive found are part of a set of molex connectors on kustom pc, will give them more a of a look see if its worth taking the led out of them for use on the front panel.

Found some more from RS, might be useful for you too yamo:

Ive got x4 orange leds, just normal ones. probs not bright enough. ..do you need a resistor for the voltage?

if you're just replacing an led to begin with then i dont think you need a resistor, as it should already be set up for the leds
