Western Digital Black Series

Hey guys,
was just wondering if anyone was using them, to see if they're worth the extra.

i've just bought a 1TB version for my media PC (bedroom PC) as one of my drives in my RAID 0 array failed and took some data with it, and i want to avoid that happening again if pos.

I tried win 7 on a single 750GB Samsung and that seemed plenty quick enough, so i'm hoping the Black will be a little bit quicker.

If it's good i think i'll get 2 or 3 of the 640GB Blacks for my main gaming PC to run in RAID0

I look forward to hearing what you think. I will post some results when i get it.

not sure myself mate, i read bad things about WD when I was researching my first rig. But then I'm still a bit of a n00b here lol.

I have also noticed those WD eco friendly HD's. Are they any good???

not sure about the green ones but i have 5x WD 640GB Blue and they are superb, as for bad things, never had an issue with any WD drives i've had. Had plenty of issues with maxtor, and a couple of issues with a couple of samsungs of late.
WD and Samsung are the only drives i'd personally recommend
