Default [Build Log] Bedroom PC - Rebuild

    Hey guys,
I have finally got round to upgrading my media/bedroom PC. It was my last remaining AMD system - AMD X2 5200, Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe nForce 590.

    NEW COMPONENTS
    Intel Q9400 6MB cache
    Asus P5Q Deluxe
    8GB GEIL DDR2 6400*
    EVGA 8800GTS 640MB Superclocked*
    1TB WD Black* (OS - 500GB, DATA - 500GB)
    1TB WD Black (Media)
    750GB Samsung F1 (Media)*
    Corsair HX 650 watt PSU
    Zalman CNPS10X Extreme CPU Cooler
    AC MX-3
Antec P180 Special Edition* "Mirror Finish"

    *Old parts/already in the PC

I did think about going i5 for it, but decided not too due to having to buy new RAM too. Plus I'll be upgrading my main rig to i7 when the new ones are released.

I'm gonna try and braid the FP IO cable, but we'll see. Trying to decide what fans to put in there, probs keep the Sythe Ultra Quiet 1600rpms, but these sound good Akasa Apache

I'll add some pic's when i get all the parts, still waiting on the PSU and CPU.

    Laters

A couple of words about this Zalman CNPS10x Extreme, it is a very good cooler but I wouldn't recommend one as the amount of dust, tabacco smoke/tar and cat hair that builds up on is a nightmare. this wouldn't normally be a problem on a Zalman but because of the plastic cage holding the fan it's very fiddly to clean out and the fan is screwed in place so a right pain.

Jesus......so even if you don't smoke and don't have any cats it gets covered?....That's not good.

Yeah thats it, it's so powerful it sucks in all the neighbourhood cat hair lol. I wondered where it was coming from.
It's a nightmare to clean out, the corsair cooler the fan cage just comes off so it's easy to clean.
Admittedly I do have 7 cats and I do smoke, but I'm sure they could have made it easier to clean, which was my point
