Default Asus P5Q Deluxe & eSATA

    Hi guys,
I am having an issue with my new Asus P5Q Deluxe, not seeing my WD My Book USB/Firewire/eSATA drive, works fine with usb (well system hangs at startup) and no issues at all with firewire, but esata nothing, i have searched through the BIOS and no mention of eSATA anywhere.
Anyone got any ideas? I assume the sb needs to be set to AHCI?
    TIA

I assume you're using the dedicated eSATA connector on the motherboard? Or just any SATA connector?

Maybe it's just dead? I have had things like that happen. Firewire doesn't work on one of mine.

Well I kinda got it running, i forgot i wasn't using AHCI or RAID once i switched over to AHCI It came on but BSOD'd me
Anyway I bought a 2 port Adaptec PCI-E card and my WD 1TB drive is running sweet most of the time moving data at 100MB/s

But I have a fairly annoying issue now when I update the BIOS I loose 2 cores on my Q9400 so a full reinstall is required
And I can't lock the chips clock
