Default Asus Xonar DX 7.1 Sound Card

    Hi guys,
just wanted to take a moment to say a few words about the
Asus Xonar DX that i just put in my bedroom PC (mainly media).

It's £60 inc vat for the PCI-E version, This version does require floppy type power, a bit of braid and heat shrink sorted the messy cables out

So far I have been very impressed with the sound quality in movie mode, supremely clear well rounded sound. Much better than the X-Fi i had up here.
I will see how it's game profile handles Battlefield 2142 later, once i get it installed.

I can defo recommend it for media PCs, we'll see about gaming later

Thought I'd try Bad Company 2 through this card - WOW sooo much better than even the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium - Fatal1ty Professional Series 7.1 Sound Card I use in my main gaming rig that's twice the price!

If your in the market for a new soundcard I can highly recommend the Asus Xonar DX - simply superb

Nice mate, I was looking to get a sound card over the next few weeks. (I'm running Realtek Onboard atm)

When I get round to it I'll definitely take a look at this one

I plugged my Sky HD box into this a few days ago (red & white RCA to single green) and the sound is superb. I can't fault this card.

There's only one thing that would make it better and that's a SPDIF input, but I can't imagine the Sky HD box or TV would sound any better than it already does.

Defo going to get a couple more of these for Rig:2 and 3.

I'm with Clev and this is my first post on here lol.

Am in the process of looking at doing a few upgrades on my machine so might have to get 1 of these. Am using onboard at the moment after my old X-Fi broke.
