The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer.
What did they look like? Ships? Motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways?

No just a 4870X2, 4870 1GB and a 8800GTX in my PC room. They have done me ok, but it's time for some upgrades

Will do. Our cards we have now are pretty much identical in performance so should give you an insight to the upgrade

Asus are generally the "better" makes aren't they? Still a £70 difference between the Asus and the Palit is quite steep.

Exactly the same cards mate. At the moment, since the card has only just been released they are made in exactly the same factory. Just a different sticker on the front and maybe a slightly better warranty.

Although that will change, at the moment it adds even more to the steep £70 additional cost.

You say that but it's still quicker than a reference GTX 580 in clock speed and fps in BC2. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/A...GTX_580/6.html

That Palit is £391 at eBuyer and £429 at OcUK lol, so I would assume I can get the Asus cheaper.
If it stays at that price I will go EVGA for their 10 year warranty Plus my current nvidia cards are EVGA - I do like things to match
We'll see what's going on when I order.

So how's yours going mate? Have you ran any benchmarks yet?

some interesting info etc on that link mate. However, it could be misleading for the Dave's of this world. The GTX only scores a higher FPS on basic resolution, which is daft really as if you can afford a card of these prices its safe to assume that you have a HD capable monitor. And on that note the ATI scores higher FPS

Yeah I thought it was a bit bizarre not to have 1920x1080 just 1920x1200, and as for scoring less than a 5970, isn't the 5970 a dual GPU card? and the 580 single chip?
