    Default Virgin Media - Colchester

    Virgin Media has taken its 100Mbps service live now in four parts of the country(UK), the lucky areas are:

    • Heckmondwike
    • Farnborough
    • Colchester
    • Barry, South Wales


    The roll-out will continue across the Virgin Media cable network during 2011 with completion set for 2012, at which point almost half the UK will have the option for a 100Meg service at a reasonable price point. The 10Meg upstream speed is respectable, and given powerful enough video encoding solutions would allow someone at home to transmit video at current HD TV levels.

    Damn, me wants!!!

    I heard they've damaged 50mb by traffic shaping p2p/usenet ?

    Hopefully... this makes all other BB providers chase up giving more competition = lower prices for us

    Still away behind korea though, 1000MB is where its at

    Yes, the 50MB service now got a lot worse since they introduced traffic shaping. They will also be introducing the traffic shaping on the 100MB service also.
    The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer.
    What did they look like? Ships? Motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways?
