The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer.
What did they look like? Ships? Motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways?
I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day. I got in.
A few people on some of the forums have fried their chips putting too much voltage through them.....What volts are these people putting through them to fry these?

5GHz? bloody hell, i bet your machine is flying!! How much more you going to push it?
I'm taking it back to 4.6GHz for now. The extra voltage for 4.8 and 5 is insane. I want to keep this chip for a long time :P

They are saying not to exceed 1.45v here..... http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=18227647
Also ocuk say...... "if you want to push more voltage through your CPU's then just be aware they could die on you. Your warranty is un-affected and we will honor any CPU's that die, we just won't ask questions as to how you killed them".

It's proved that OCUK are talking nonsense. They're just looking for more hits to their site.
Pretty much everyone on www.overclock.net is saying they're safe up to 1.5.
Intel's own documentation state this, too.
Regardless, I'd rather play it safe and keep the chip cooler. The real world difference between 4.6 and 4.8 are almost none existent.

I meant to ask - how are u finding the EFI BIOS?
EDIT: I wanna install the EFI BIOS for my P5Q Deluxe to test before I update my other machines.
What USB thumb drive format tools do u use for bootable thumb drives?

EFI is nice, but it's just a nicety. It still offers the same features though. The only thing that's impressive is you get a list of system devices or external devices and you just click it to boot from it instead of messing with the boot orders and stuff.
You shouldn't need to do anything to the USB to flash the BIOS, just bang the file on there and use the EZ Flash that most Asus mobo's have.

Yeah that's what I usually do, I was under the impression that EZFlash couldn't be used to flash from a normal BIOS to an EFI version.
I have a bit of time on my hands so will look into it again.
