    Default Antec 900 Upgrade

I think next year im probs gonna go watercooled....start off with cpu and then g-card...will probs get it bit by bit so my other half doesnt notice as much (money wise).
Gonna see sams build first as he seems to be doing alot of research at the mo (havent a clue wot hes talking about ha ha).
Will a antec 1200 be ok as im thinking of updating to one from a antec 900?
I want something with a huge side window so i can see all the lights etc.

Oh good point we need a cases section in the hardware section
I'll create one and move our posts

As for cases you really need to think about what modding you are willing to do to accomodate a 120.3 rad. For instance you can fit a 120.3 or a 120.4 rad in a Silverstone TJ07 without any modding

Tbh i dont even know what a 120.3 is? a radiator?....but then ive just found out off sam that you also have reservoirs?
I want something i can build on ...not have to get rid of the whole kit when i want to upgrade in the future.
So i think im gonna scrap the idea of air cooling for now.
So will a 1200 fit all this stuff or am i gonna have to have one of those huge cases in my living room to pi** the wife off even more. (she doesnt like the blue lights and is starting to moan that its taking over the living room) I could get away with a 1200 cos she doesnt think the case isnt too bad...just a bigger version really....you see my thinking?

120.3 is a radiator that has 3 120mm fans attached to it, and tbh i'm not sure if there is room in a Antec 1200 without modding it.
Yes i have a couple of Reservoir's knocking about, i'll start a thread in the trading section
Totally take ur point on the wife,

EDIT: I can put together a water cooling kit - what i'd get for current setup and upgradable ie able to add a gfx block and easily to upgrade the block for the new i7. Not that I have all the parts I recommend atm

Excellent m8...just when you have some time gimme a list of stuff i need and some pics would be nice too....i need that psu off you first cos shes still moaning about that.....once ive put that in she will forget about it then i can move on ha ha.
Sounds like im hen pecked...shes quite good really...i just feel im taking the mick.

The antec is quite a big case....but if im gonna water cool i dont see the point in having all them fans (7)....so i might look at other cases with side windows.
Are there cases that are purpose built for water?

Lots of people recommend this case for water cooling etc... LIAN-LI PC-P60B ....would have to mod the side for a side perspex window.....Also is that the psu at the front with the front open? how does that expel air...does the middle fan act as a exhaust and other 2 intake? ............But when i look at the dimensions the antec 1200 is actually bigger.... with a window....and £40 cheaper?

Not sure about the fans i haven't seen one up close
OK right cases i would recommend for water cooling....

Silverstone TJ07 - can mount 120.3 rad in the bottom with angle bracket

Silverstone TJ09 or 10 - can mount 120.2 rad in the roof with bracket made by silverstone.

    Coolmaster Cosmos
    - can mount a 120.3 rad in the roof IIRC

I didnt realise it had water cooling built into it...(£160.00) is it anygood? seems too cheap for what you get. A bargain if it is good.

yeah its fine but as i have 2 gfx cards im changing water pump and res! old pump and res a bit to close to bottom card for my liking. I used a EK Supreme CPU block i was using in an old rig of mine as the one that came with case was a bit naff!!

One thing i will say though its a big case !!!

I think i might get this case just coz it houses a 120.3 rad at the front and has good venting system for the rad also.....Lloyd has kindly offered to give me a D-tek fusion block so i think a better pump an res would do the trick....cant wait to see yours jura55ic.

Well after lots of case reviewing there seems to be only 1 case thats the clear winner for me (could change my mind) and its the silverstone Tj07...heres a modded 1....http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=155685

It just has everything im looking for...the only downside is the price....but you only get what you pay for i suppose....if anyone spots one cheaper than normal give me a shout please. p.s has to be black.

Do they do filters for them...as i cant go back to no filters again......as my rig was horrendous without them...i just run the dyson over the front and side window of my rig every couple of days and its still like new inside.
