Thought i would start a new build as it's been some time....Agent orange is no more and has went to a new home.

Was looking for something different to the usual cases that you see, and came across the Thermaltake Level GT10 designed by BMW.

Thought i would start on it today ....time to strip it down.







Got to remove the top fan for the H100i to fit, it's a 200 x 200 x 30 mm





Right this is where the fun begins.....i watched a review video of the G10 case last night and they reckoned the front 200 x 200 x 20 mm wasn't that good, they didnt write it off but said it Wasnt as good ast the top one which is a 30mm thickness instead of 20mm which got me thinking of adding it somehow to pull more air into the case....so this is what i came up with.....



I thought that would help the front fan pull more air in if it was positioned there.

I had to make something to chock it up a bit as it was sitting a tad low and another one to help support it onto the side of the case.



Added some double sided trim tape that you use for cars and some cable ties and its solid.

Well i havent got a gpu as ive gave my gtx580 to my son, but i would like a MSI 7970 Lightning which i might have if the guy sells the waterblock separately, if not im waiting for the GTX780 to come out and if the price is crazy which i think it's going to be i'm hoping it will drive the prices down on all the other cards that are out now.

Also i might have buggered my mobo as i said in another post, so instead of getting another x58 i might just sell my 920 DO and either go ivy or wait a couple of weeks to see what Haswell has to offer?


Gonna try and box off the psu at the bottom of the case to increase airflow even further .......going for an angle from top of psu to bottom of the fan to hide the cables (even tho they're quite neat) and create more airflow to graphics card.

I was going to use aluminum but i found some plastic sheeting hiding in my loft so will use that as its easier to work with.

Also ordered a 24 pin atx braided cable extension and x2 pcie extensions and x2 black sata cables...why do most mobos come with those horrible pinky red sata cables?

Update......

Out came the jigsaw, files, sandpaper etc etc.



After cutting the bits for the psu cover and air deflector i tried some black vinyl to cover it but i got sooooo many bubbles it looked naff, even after getting the hairdryer on it?




So then out came the paint......tbh it looks better satin than gloss as it matches the inside of the case.



I also painted my new dvd drive as it looks naff being silver in a black case. I done my last one in agent orange and was glad i did.

First dust coat........




Also came up with another idea (cosmetic only) after having another look at the case.....underneath the metal mesh theres some plastic honeycomb that you can just see even tho it's black, so i thought i would highlight it.





All masked up ready for painting tomorrow.

Found another piece of honeycomb lurking underneath the small top cover above the dvd drive......was a bit of a pain to remove as it's part of the whole top cover....had to remove the cables for the usb and fan control system and pry it off without snapping the lugs that hold it on top of the metal chassis....got it removed ok in the end.



Al primed up and ready for painting.

Painted them yesterday and left overnight to dry properly.







Not sure about putting the metal mesh back on them again as they look better with them off tbh.

Yeah it does look awesome like that, but will let a lot of dust etc in.
How much orange shows through the mesh?

I could blank off the undersides of the 2 smaller ones as theres no fans under them, the big one is the exhaust from the H100i and it flips off for easy cleaning.....you can still see the orange through the mesh but it doesn't look as good imo.....i will take some pics after i have built it up with them on and off.

Got my 24 pin atx braided cables and pcie braided cables today, and x2 black sata cables.....feeling a bit under the weather (man flu) so wont be doing anything today apart from dying and sweating.

Never knew you could do that?.....good idea as my stealth mod was no good in the end as it was too tight once everything was in, so i ripped the front bezel cover off.

I also bought another NZXT fan controller as i missed not being able to see the time on the front of my pc and it also looks class.



Havent really done that much as i have wrecked my left hand and it is so swollen i cant use it properly.....i added a 80mm fan above the 200mm one that i took from the top to pull even more air in from the front of the case.

I have done a few cosmetic mods to the inside and outside but i'm gonna leave it till the end of the build.....trying to find a decent graphics place to laser cut me some vinyl for me as my pal Simon who did Agent orange for me died about a year ago.

Still havent tried the mobo in yet so still not sure whether im going x58/x79 or even Haswell for that matter.

I picked up an external DVD RW from Fleabay for around £12 - sits in the cupboard 98% of the time then brought out as and when needed

Can't Tom at Chilled do your etching mate ? They do etching and cutting

Nah as when i come to sell it i can put it back to standard by peeling them off.

Got my Msi lightning and laser cut graphics today so should be finished tomorrow if the mobo is ok?
